DRAKE MILLS, President and CEO of Community Trust Bank, NAMED ERNST & YOUNG ENTREPRENEUR OF THE YEAR
Houston, TX – Drake Mills, President and CEO of Community Trust Bank, has been named a 2013 Ernst &Young Entrepreneur Of The Year Award winner for the Gulf Coast area. This award recognizes outstanding entrepreneurs who demonstrate excellence and extraordinary success in such areas as innovation, financial performance, and personal commitment to their businesses and communities. Mills was selected from more than seventy nominations by a panel of independent judges. Award winners were announced at a special gala event on Thursday, June 13, at the Hilton America’s Houston Hotel.

Mills began his career at Community Trust Bank in 1984 as a personal teller, and after serving in a variety of departmental positions within the organization including retail and operations, was appointed Chief Financial Officer, then Chief Operations Officer, and finally, President and Chief Executive Officer. He is a member of 11 different boards throughout the region, including the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas Community Depository Institutions Advisory Council and the Federal Reserve System Community Depository Institutions Advisory Council. He is also Chairman of the Louisiana Bankers Association.
Mills’ entrepreneurial vision resulted in his creating a unique corporate culture within the organization, which is clearly defined in tangible ways throughout Community Trust’s banking centers, training facility, and back offices.
